UT Austin Academic Calendar 2023-2024

Key Dates and Events

The specific dates for the UT Austin academic calendar for 2023-2024 are typically released by the university closer to the start of the academic year. However, based on previous years’ calendars, it can be anticipated that the fall semester will likely begin in late August or early September and end in December. The spring semester is expected to commence in January and conclude in May. Additionally, there will be breaks for holidays such as Thanksgiving and spring break.

Registration Periods

The academic calendar also outlines registration periods for both new and returning students. This includes dates for priority registration, regular registration, add/drop deadlines, and payment due dates. It is important for students to be aware of these dates to ensure they can enroll in their desired courses and meet all financial obligations.

Final Exams and Graduation

Another crucial aspect of the academic calendar is the schedule for final exams. Students need to know when their exams will take place so they can adequately prepare. Furthermore, the calendar will include information about graduation ceremonies, including dates, times, and locations.

Undergraduates at UT Austin are classified as freshmen (0-29 hours of credit), sophomores (30-59 hours of credit), juniors (60-89 hours of credit), or seniors (more than 89 hours of credit) based on the number of semester credit hours passed and transferred, regardless of whether the hours are applicable to a degree.
